Sarah is the director of communications at Elgin Community College (ECC) in Elgin, Illinois. Prior to ECC, she spent five years with Advocate Health Care, the largest health care system in Illinois, as the manager of communications and government relations at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Sarah’s personal mission to engage and employ the use of emerging technologies in all communication makes her effective in reaching a dynamic audience.
Sarah initiated and moderates #journchat, the top-trending weekly live chat between PR professionals, journalists and bloggers on the microblogging platform, Twitter. She is a guest writer for Mashable, one of the most popular technology blogs, runs her own blog PRsarahevans.com and edits the popular MediaOnTwitter wiki resource. Sarah most recently launched an ongoing video chat called VidProCo featuring leading PR and Communications professionals who answer questions from their peers.
